ZTE has launched what may be the cheapest Android phone yet. The ZTE Kis will be available from today through Virgin Media for just £49.99 on pay as you go.
The ultra-budget features an iPhone-sized 3.5″ display with 320×480 pixel resolution. It is powered by an 800MHz processor, with just 256MB RAM, while there’s 512MB of onboard storage plus a 2GB microSD card included in the box.
There is also a 3.2megapixel camera, and a 1400mAh battery keeps it all running. Unsurprisingly the phone runs Gingerbread (Android 2.3).
The phone costs £49.99 plus a £10 top up, and customers will get 1GB of free data per month for 12 months.
The Kis is part of a series of handset launches from ZTE across all price points. The company’s new flagship device will be unveiled next week.
