What would your dream desktop look like – a trio of linked monitors? A smorgasbord of speakers? Maybe something a bit more creative?
The UltraWide Festival 2015 ‘Dream Setup’ is an online competition where participants introduce their computer setup ideas on YouTube and other social media channels. Finalists get a chance to build their dream PC setup with prize money of $10,000 USD.
Since the contest started in September, the festival has attracted much interest among tech enthusiasts and gamers. LG has just finished choosing its top 30 semi-finalists for their presented works, which are open to public at www.ultrawidefestival.com.
Though this specific competition is now closed, there are still lots of interesting events in store for those who found out about the event a little too late.
One of them is the ‘Cardboard Dream Setup’, where LG invites those that missed out the first time around to show off their dream station ideas and to win some LG goodies. Instead of showing off your technology with actual hardware and gadgets, you simply demonstrate your art and craft skills by creating your dream setup in cardboard. Time to get out the Blu-Tack, scissors and NeoPixels and then get creative!
LG will select the 20 semi-finalists based on the number of likes, comments and shares on participant’s original post. Once through, these semi-finalists’ works will be open for voting on the campaign site. Make sure your work stands out and get your friends involved during the voting phase to up your chance of winning!
Everyone is welcome to participate, even those who have already applied to the Dream Setup competition. We wish everyone good luck – and may the best cardboard setup win!
The application period is from October 12th till October 30th. For more information, please visit the competition website: http://www.ultrawidefestival.com/event.html.
