Toshiba’s Thrive got distinctly average reviews all over the place, so does their new 7-inch tablet have the power to bring Toshiba in to Android tablet stardom? Well, on first impressions, not really. The LT170 will be a 7-inch device, with the same form factor as the Thrive.
From the details we’ve seen so far, there will be a 1GHz CPU powering the device, and a slightly disappointing 512MB of RAM. Although the lack of a dual-core processor doesn’t necessarily mean the LT170 will struggle, it’s certainly uninspiring.
You’ll also find the usual ports around the outside of the device, as well as microSD and microUSB ports. This is a thoroughly welcome addition, especially considering the lowly 8GB of internal storage that initially comes with the device.
The LT170 is currently being priced at €299, which means it’ll be up against a lot of other 7-inch tablets in the same pay bracket. No details of a confirmed release date, as of yet.
