Have you ever had a look at the writing on the Text Edit app icon in Mac OS X? If you remember the Apple adverts of the nineties you’ll remember the message. In Leopard or Snow Leopard the icons can be shown much larger so you can see Apple’s inspirational copy (apparently written by Steve Jobs himself) featured in the Think Different Ads.
The handwritten note reads as follows:
Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things.
To see the text for yourself, head to your Applications folder and locate the Text Edit app. Select it and hit space to view the icon in Quick Look.
