SUSECon 2013 hasn’t quite started yet, with the main sessions beginning tomorrow, but today was press day. This gave us behind the scenes access to the big names behind SUSE, such as VP for Engineering Ralf Flaxa and President and General Manager Nils Brauckmann. In preparation for tomorrow’s keynote speech, a couple of announcements that are being made at that time were revealed to us.
First of all, continuing the fantastic relationship with Microsoft, SUSE announced a specialised plug-in for Microsoft System Centre that allows for easier management of heterogeneous servers in one data centre. They also announced the return of Solid Driver, a program that ensures products and the kernel work perfectly together via testing by SUSE themselves.
Tomorrow is the key note speeches and the first breakout sessions, so keep an eye on Linux User for more from the convention.
