Medios y Proyectos

The diversity and depth of creative talent from MYP is clearly in evidence from the moment the agency’s website is opened…

Founded in 2006 by Hèctor Monerris and Jesús Pascual, MYP (Medios y Proyectos) is a multi-disciplinary agency that can turn its talents equally to web design or motion graphics.

“We needed a simple website just to show our work,” commented Hèctor Monerris. “We wanted the site to be compatible with tablets and to have some ‘z-depth’. The final result is a sort of multi-levelled isometric road. It fits in with our personal style and it’s inspired by classic 8-bit videogames.”

Using a vertical and horizontal scrolling interface allows each project to be presented to the viewer with ease. Click a tile to reveal the detail about the project that can be viewed in full-screen mode. The site was also designed with touchscreen devices in mind.

Hèctor continued: “We thought of the possibility to use WebGL, but tablets do not support it well. CSS3 was our best option so we used that on the site. The site is a mix of JavaScript and jQuery, CSS3 transforms and WordPress slightly customised by adding some fields for posts. It was really hard to work with CSS3 transforms. The site has an alternative version for small devices and older browsers implemented in HTML and CSS2.”

As a showcase for the agency’s exciting projects and an indication of the technical abilities clearly present, this site is a great example of exactly how a simple interface can present complex information and content to the viewer and still be a piece of great design in its own right.
