The launch of the Retina 4K 21.5-inch iMac was long overdue, but it was great to see what Apple has been working on in regards to their Mac portfolio.
While having an upgraded Retina 4K iMac may seem like an initially good idea, is it really worth the upgrade? Well, yes in all honesty.
One of the clear benefits of buying a Retina 4K iMac is that you’re getting an upgraded machine in nearly all departments.
The display can boast a staggering 9 million pixels, ideal for all the 4K footage you’re going to want to use and there’s a monstrous Intel processor onboard for your gaming needs.
For those with the extra cash, Apple are also enabling users to upgrade various areas of the Retina 4K iMac. More storage, a better processor and even a new Magic Mouse and Magic Keyboard can be bundled in as extras.
With prices starting at $1500, upgrading to the new iMac isn’t cheap. Plus, with the inevitable extras you’ll arguably want to invest in, you can expect to pay closer to the $2000 mark.
That aside, there’s no denying that the new Retina 4K iMac is an amazing piece of kit. No matter if you’re considering buying your first iMac, or looking to upgrade, the Retina 4K 21.5-inch is certainly worth checking out.
