Samsung looks set to unveil the Galaxy S5 on 24th February, after sending out invites to a launch event entitled ‘Unpacked, Episode 1’ where its latest flagship device is expected to be previewed.
Although the S5 was not specifically mentioned on the invite, Samsung was dropping some big hints with the number 5 appearing prominently. The event will take place in Barcelona during Mobile World Congress.
It will also be live streamed at www.youtube.com/samsungmobile.
Meanwhile the purported Galaxy S5 specs have been leaked by Korean securities firm KDB Daewoo Securities Research.
They report that the Galaxy S5 will have a 5.25 inch display with 2560×1440 resolution, 3GB of RAM and 3200mAh battery. As with the S4, it will available in versions powered by either a quad-core Snapdragon CPU, or an octa-core Exynos. The latter is reported to be a 64-bit processor, bringing it into line with Apple’s iPhone 5S.
The Galaxy S5 is expected to be on sale by April.
