Samsung Galaxy S4 Active: water resistant, quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM

The Galaxy S4 Active is the next device to be added to the market by Samsung, but is it worth getting excited over?

S4 Active

Samsung doesn’t show any signs of stopping in its quest to become the dominant force in the smartphone market and its latest device soon to hit the stores is the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active. The hardened exterior of the Active is both water and dust resistant with the entire chassis of the phone being a lot more sturdy than the original Galaxy S4.

Specs wise the Active is looking a particularly nifty piece of kit. There’s a 1.9 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor on-board, a 1080p display and also a decent 2GB of RAM which should handle most tasks with ease. Dig a little deeper and you’ll find 16GB of internal storage (expandable by microSD), a 2600mAh battery and an eight-megapixel rear facing camera as well.

Samsung says the S4 Active will have a global release this summer, with the device first appearing in the U.S and Sweden. We’ll let you know once we can confirm the price and availability for its UK release.
