Samsung Galaxy S2 hits 10 million sales landmark

Samsung has officially announced that the star device in its Galaxy range has reached an impressive 10 million sales - with the phone becoming a tremendous hit worldwide.

Also according to Samsung’s press release, the figure was achieved after 5 million handsets were sold in only 8 weeks.

Although the device is yet to hit the same level as its main iPhone competitor, in terms of sales, the figures do show that there is at least decent competition against the iPhone.

“In just five months the Galaxy S2 has seen tremendous growth, reflecting its tremendous popularity with customers around the world, who in selecting the Galaxy S2 as their device of choice have driven the device’s strong market position globally” said JK Shin, President and Head of Samsung’s Mobile Communications Business.

Samsung are expected to expand their Galaxy range considerably over the upcoming months with the release of the Samsung Galaxy R, M, M Pro, Y and Y Pro devices.
