A portable iPhone speaker that rocks…
As the summer continues our gadget-focussed minds invariably start wondering towards the possibility of getting our music players out into the wide world so we can enjoy the benefits of golden sunshine and great tunes. Altec Lansing has come up with a cool solution for iPhone and iPod owners in the form of its inMotion Max speaker. This portable speaker has a lithium-ion battery so you can easily take it out and about. It’s incredibly light, so you have no worries adding it to your bags for a day at the beach, and it also has a couple of cool design features that really enhance its usability. The first is that the dock is retractable, so when you’re transporting the unit you can push it in so it’s tucked into the body of the stereo. The second is that the touch-sensitive buttons on the top only become useable when you pull the stand down at the back, and when the stand is up the speaker will automatically power off. So there is never any chance of wasted battery life while the inMotion Max speaker is in transit. Sound wise, this speaker is immense for its size. As with all Altec Lansing products, every aspect of the device is designed in-house. The lithium-ion battery bears up well, with four hours of continuous playback. Other features include a remote, FM radio and full shielding so that there’s no interfering noises when your phone rings. It’s a great product especially for the summer months when you’re most likely to be out and about.
