Quick Tip: Restore the classic sidebar in iTunes 11

Do you hate the new interface in iTunes 11? Use our guide and you'll have the old interface back in next to no time.

Main1When iTunes 11 launched last year, a number of users were confused by the newly redesigned interface. Thankfully, there’s a simple way to bring back many of the features, such as the Sidebar and Status bar, that were lost in the transition from iTunes 10 to iTunes 11. Here’s how:

1: Show Sidebar

Open iTunes and choose the View menu. Here you’ll be able to choose to Show Sidebar and Show Status Bar. Enable both of these options to return iTunes to its former glory.

2. Song View

Now use Song View and you can pretend like this is still the old version of iTunes. You can access all your media and playlists using the sidebar, and connected devices will also appear here, just like they used to in iTunes 10.
