After development issues late last year with openSUSE, the team and community are back on track. Development for openSUSE 13.1 is on schedule, with the latest milestone only a few hours later than expected. Milestone 4 for 13.1 is the last milestone before beta testing begins, and there are a few upgrades that have come along with it.
As well as minor updates to the kernel, RPM and systemd, a few other packages have been updated to newer versions – such as qemu, wine, the xscreensaver, LibreOffice and even some of the desktop environments.
Obviously as a milestone it’s not for day to day use – if you want to test it though and help improve the distro overall, openSUSE is always looking for volunteers. You can grab the latest images from the openSUSE website, and start contributing today.
