The Apache run OpenOffice finally released version 3.4 in May this year, 14 months since the last version was released in January of 2011. While many open source users have switched to LibreOffice, Apache is still developing its orginator, with version 3.4.1 out now.
The headlining new feature in AOO 3.4.1 is the increased language support, which now makes it available in 20 languages. Five more have been added in 3.4.1 including British English, Finnish and Khmer. There’s also been 69 bug fixes, and general enhancements in performance, interoperability and security according to the announcement blog.
While this is probably not enough to bring LO users back home so to speak, it is somewhat a step in the right direction. You can download Apache OpenOffice 3.4.1 from the official website.
