Microsoft Office coming to Android early next year

Microsoft Office 2013 will be the first official suite from Microsoft to debut on Android.

A report by The Verge has revealed that Microsoft Office will make its long-awaited debut next year on Android and iOS devices, offering users an alternative to the plethora of free document editing suites already on the Play store.

The report also expresses that the initial app will be free, but to edit documents, presentations and spreadsheets, users will need to pay for an Office 365 subscription.

Similar to SkyDrive and OneNote, Office Mobile will require you to sign in via a Microsoft account.

Although no exact release date has been confirmed, the report suggests we should see the suite released early next year.
