Giving out your phone number can be a risky prospect if it falls into the wrong hands; especially if it turns out spam numbers are targeting your number on a constant basis. However, one of the new features in iOS 8 makes it a simple task to create your own list of spam and prank numbers you want to permanently block without the need to download any third-party apps that perform the same function. As soon as a call comes through, it’s a case of jotting down the number and then adding the entry into your list. It’s also customisable and if you find there’s a contact or two who you want to take a break from, you can add their details to the block list without them ever knowing.
1. Phone settings
Open Settings and scroll down until you reach the Phone tab. From this menu you’ll want to select the Blocked option. Your blocked list will be empty when you first open it.
2. Curate your list
Select the Add New option and pick a number you wish to block. Make sure to add any variants of the same number as well. Press on the Done option once completed.
If you’ve accidentally added a number to your list, then press the Edit button, select the red – symbol against an entry and choose the Unblock option to remove it.
