Mac wallpapers made in Pixelmator – For the love of Blighty

We don't want our fellow Brits feeling left out, so here's a Mac wallpaper for you too

In case you may have thought we had lost our sense of national pride and gone all ‘Merican on you with our 4th of July wallpaper yesterday, we thought we’d make something that the British could enjoy.

This wallpaper was made with a custom brush in Pixelmator (which you can get for free in iCreate 122). You can make brushes from any shape or image by simply dragging the layer into the Brushes menu. From there you can adjust the colour, opacity and flow like any other brush. In this instance we used an Apple shape obviously.

The brushing is made incredibly easy too. Straight lines can be achieved in Pixelmator be simply applying the brush once, hold Shift and then applying it again somewhere else. Pixelmator will fill in the gap between in a direct line. With a little Scatter applied to the brush stroke this won’ be a completely even line either, creating a nice loose effect.

Anyway, you can download and enjoy this 15″ Retina resolution wallpaper by clicking the image below and then right-clicking it to save to desktop.

And don’t forget you can still get your free copy of Pixelmator in iCreate 122 on sale now.
