Mac wallpapers made in Pixelmator – 4th of July special

Have a celebratory Apple wallpaper on us to mark this 4th of July

Continuing our celebration of Pixelmator (which you can still get for free by buying iCreate 122 on sale now) we thought we would make another quick Mac wallpaper for you. This one is especially for our American readers to mark the 4th of July.

It’s a pretty easy thing to make with Pixelmator. Thanks to auto-measuring and snapping Pixelmator can see how you’re separating objects, like stripes or ‘stars’ and will look for patterns. That means if you keep lining up stripes Pixelmator will guess you want them equally spaced and show you when you’re reaching that placement. It makes creating geometric patterns really quick and removes the need to create your own guides and grids all the time.

Anyway, here’s the wallpaper. It’s at Retina 15″ resolution so feel free to shrink it down for other formats (Pixelmator is pretty good at that too). Click it to open the full image and then right-click to save to your desktop.

And don’t forget to check out iCreate 122 with a full free copy of the Pixelmator app on your free disc.
