Apple has launched a newly updated version of its premium music editing and making software for Macs, Logic Pro X. Part of Apple’s pro range of apps alongside Final Cut Pro X, Logic Pro X comes with a raft of new additions building on its reputation as one of the best professional grade music solutions around.
Logic Pro X begins with a completely new look and design. It’s much more stylish and striking, in line with FCPX. It’s not just cosmetic though. With advanced and streamlined control options for personalising or speeding up your workflow respectively, and improved placement of things like Transport controls, you should be able to navigate Logic Pro X better than ever before.
Virtual sessions drumming from the Drummer function is another big addition. With these tools you can create custom drum kits and lay out your beat. Apple promises it sounds so realistic “everyone will think you worked with a real drummer in the studio.” You’ll also find new stomp boxes and redesigned interfaces for keyboards and synths.
Flex pitch is a massive new feature enabling for greater control over vocals, guitars and other tracks, changing the pitch and making sure you hit every note. It’s a very powerful new tool for you to play around with and should create much more consistent sounding tracks.
This all just scratches the surface of what you’ll be getting for your money though, so be sure to check out Apple’s own Logic Pro X page.
