Linux Foundation jobs board goes live today

The Linux Foundation, the nonprofit organisation dedicated to the growth and success of Linux, has today unveiled its new Linux Jobs Board accessible via its popular online destination Linux.com. The board is designed to provide employers and job seekers with a centralised online forum in which anyone can find the ideal job opportunity or the brightest talent. According to Linux Foundation executive director, Jim Zemlin, the launch of the new community feature is in direct response to the increasing use of open source  operating systems and software in the workplace.

“Linux’ increasing use across industries is building high demand for Linux jobs despite national unemployment stats… Linux.com reaches millions of Linux professionals from all over the world. By providing a Jobs Board feature on the popular community site, we can bring together employers, recruiters and job seekers to lay the intellectual foundation for tomorrow’s IT industry,” he said.

According to the Linux Foundation employers interested in posting a job opening have two options; they can post their openings on Linux.com and reach millions of Linux-focused professionals or they can use the JobThread Network on Linux.com to reach an extended audience that includes 50 niche publishing sites with a combined 9.8 million visitors every month.
