LG have confirmed they’re currently in mass production of a new flexible e-paper display. The display will measure in at 6-inches, use a 1024×768 resolution and will bend up to 40 degrees.
Other details we can confirm, is that the screen will measure in at just 0.7mm thick and can be dropped from a height of 1.5 metres without damage.
Although nothing has been finialised, LG are expecting to ship the new display to Chinese manufacturers as soon as possible, and we could possibly see them here in Europe by the end of April.
It’s a pity that the display isn’t fully foldable as of yet, but the technology behind it, is something to get excited about. Forget your quad-core processors and your Ice Cream Sandwich, I want to see a flexible tablet now!
LG aren’t the first company to boast this sort of technology and we’ve previously seen Samsung show off their range of flexible screens.
Do you think flexible screens are the next big leap for Android devices?
