There are a lot of Raspberry Pi kits out there ranging from good to bad. Jumping on the success of the Pi, and its purposefully minimalist offering, basic case and cable bundles are a popular add-on or after sale. Kano though is a more complete bundle offer, with not only everything you need to use your Raspberry Pi bar a display, but also created in such a way to be novice friendly.
To some, the lone board can be a little scary to start working with, however the Kano developers feels they’ve created the perfect kit to help people get it set up and straight into learning how to code. The Kickstarter pitch video sure seems to suggest they’ve got it right, with some simple components and steps, and a manual to help people go from there to wire up their own speaker or code in Minecraft and other programs.
The project hit its target very quickly over the past few hours after being highlighted by the Raspberry Pi Foundation on their blog. You can still fund it yourself and be in the chance of getting your own though from their funding page.
