iWork Tutorial: Create a simple savings chart in Numbers

Take control of your savings using a simple chart in Numbers

Saving for a big event such as a wedding can take a lot of organisation and planning, not to mention money.
A basic chart in Numbers is the perfect way to keep track of your savings and to see how far you are from achieving your target. The hardest part of this task is finding the money in the first place, but when you do add to your funds, all you need to do is update your chart with the amount of money you’ve added and you can watch your chart grow as your bank account does. We’ve divided our wedding savings chart into sections – such as reception, honeymoon, photography, etc. There are two rows; the bottom indicates the target and the top is your fund. At the end of each row we’ve added a box with the target amount needed and a star so that you can clearly indicate that you’ve achieved your target. Finally, if you need some incentives, try adding some pictures of your dream wedding or holiday for inspiration.
