DigiTimes has published a new report with new rumours about the production of the next iPhone. According to the report, components of the new phone will begin shipping at the end of May, with the phone itself going on sale during the third quarter. Other recent reports have suggested that the iPhone 5s will be launching in June or July, so this matches those rumours. The new model will have a more powerful processor and a higher-megapixel camera.
According to DigiTimes:
The new iPhone will not receive a major upgrade and may just be a slightly enhanced version of iPhone 5 (iPhone 5S), the sources said citing their latest specification data. Meanwhile, there are also rumors stating that Apple also plans to release an iPhone model using plastic chassis to push its global smartphone market share, the sources added.
This is the latest rumour of the next iPhone, with others suggesting Foxconn is currently preparing to increase production, and that the iPhone 5S will feature a fingerprint scanner and NFC.
