iPad Tutorial: Create and save Genius playlists

Creating your own special playlists is great, but by letting the iPad do all the hard work you can get some really cool musical mixes

Keeping track of all the music on your iPad can be a bit of a pain
. It’s surprising how much music you can fit onto even just the 16GB version. With all that music, it makes sense to keep track of it all and to create playlists. Of course, listening to whole albums is fine, but then we all have our favourite tracks and like to hear them more often than others. Creating playlists manually is a great way of doing this, but it’s time consuming and if you don’t keep them updated they soon get tiresome. You could just stick your whole music collection on random, but even this throws up issues like those hidden tracks or fillers that ruin a smooth transition, or the odd song you’re bored of hearing. The best solution may well be Genius mixes. Apple has created a tool that lets you select a track and automatically create a playlist of music that complements each other. It’s a great way of keeping the music going around a certain theme and it’s incredibly reliable.
