9to5 Mac are reporting that the starting price for the new iPad Mini will likely fall between that of the new iPod Touch and the currently-available iPad 2. The new 7.85-inch iPad is widely expected to be announced at Apple’s Press Event in San Jose in just over 24 hours.
The site reports that their source has information suggesting that the base level, Wi-Fi only model of the Mini will cost at least $329 when it launches. It is expected that the Mini will be released with two models – an entry-level Wi-Fi model and a more costly Wi-Fi+Cellular model that will include 3G or 4G coverage.

This price point would place the Mini comfortably between the $299 iPod Touch (32 GB) and the $399 iPad 2 (16 GB). A recent photo from the authors of Apple.Pro also suggests that Apple may update their current iPad models to include the new Lightning Connection that has debuted on the iPhone 5, iPod Touch and iPod Nano recently.
