Today’s icon is Photo Booth, and this one was actually good fun. I’m still working on a Launchpad idea that really works, so I started Photo Booth as a distraction and ended up being really happy with the result. This one is directly inspired by the iOS 7 equivalent, although this one naturally drops the ’rounded square’ iOS icon shape. I gave the photo frames an outline so that they would stand out, and drew the torso figure by hand – I think it looks pretty good.

As the collection is expanding, I’ve started using Candybar to apply icons and store the whole icon set in one place. It makes it easy to apply them in batches or test out designs as I work without needing to enter your admin password endlessly or copy and paste icons from one place to another. You can grab the app for free from here, create a new collection in the sidebar and use the app to add more icons to the collection as I make them.
You can, of course, still get hold of the other icons – iTunes, Safari, Mail, Mac App Store and Messages – and download the Photo Booth icon below. I’ll try and work on the Launchpad icon for tomorrow, and then turn my attention to something like the Finder icon, which might prove to be something of a challenge…
