iOS 7 Mac icon project: Pages

iWork week begins with Pages in the latest update to the iOS 7 Mac icon project

icon comparison

Part one of iWork week means that there’s a brand new icon for Pages on Mac. As you might be able to tell, this one is based entirely on the new iOS 7 app icon. As with other icons in the project, I’ve used the basic shape from the app icon, then outlined it with the gradient used by Apple. The pen took a little while to get right, but I’m happy with the results.

As many of you have noticed, Candybar is no longer supported in Mavericks. LiteIcon seems to do the trick for those pesky system icons (like Finder and Trash) but sadly doesn’t work for app icons, which still need to be replaced manually at this point. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that an update of some kind, but right now it’s manual or nothing.

Grab the icon below, and keep an eye out for the next icon in the iWork set tomorrow.
