Today Dashboard went under the knife for its iOS 7 pick-me-up, and it’s come out the other side looking rather more simple. The design brings in a few different aspects that I’ve used before, but primarily draws on iOS 7’s Compass icon, which is the closest icon in design to that of Dashboard. I wanted to maintain the black design, but the Compass icon allowed me to bring in some grey and red while matching a style from iOS 7.
The bars of the dial are similar to that of Safari, with grey and white alternately. I simplified the whole design to remove the icons and glossy overlay, and made the dials more uniform. It’s a pretty straightforward design overall, although it was a while before I realised how similar the Compass icon was to that of Dashboard, which is quite embarrassing.
Anyway, you can grab the icon below, along with the previous icons in the project. You can also get Candybar here, and you’ll need it for Dashboard, as you have to change Dashboard in the System area as well as the Applications section.
