Images of the first ‘Made for iPhone’ game controller leak

With Apple announcing iOS 7's support for MFi game controllers at WWDC, images of prototype models made by third-party accessory makers are entering the wild.

According to Kotaku, this is one of the first ‘Made For iPhone’ game controllers. The image itself might be typically low quality, but it clearly shows an iPhone 5-sized space in the middle, and a lightning connector, making it a prime candidate for enclosure-type controllers that Apple is said to be working on with third-party accessory makers.

Apple announced that it would support game controllers as part of its ‘Made for iPhone’ accessories scheme at its WWDC keynote last week and is reported to be working with both Logitech and MOGA to build them. Kotaku say that this particular controller (which appears to be an early prototype) is made by Logitech, which matches up with current speculation.

This might be the first third-party game controller we’ve seen for the iPhone, but it certainly won’t be the last, with a full range expected to launch later on in the year.
