iLife Tutorial: Add a scrolling text effect in iMovie

Veterans of tape-to-tape video editing suites will remember the hassle of adding captions and titles to their films. You had to print your title or credits on a sheet of paper, use a vision mixer to invert the clip and turn black lettering to white, then key the text over the footage. To get the text to actually scroll involved splashing out cash on an expensive caption generator. Thanks to iMovie, we can add slick-looking text with ease (and customise font, colour and alignment to suit our footage). We can also make those credits scroll in a smooth and professional looking way.
