Certain apps like Facebook and Twitter undergo several updates in a year, and it can be easy to lose track of them. Developers are constantly looking for ways to update their apps, and your phone may not alert you straight away that a new update is available. If you want to check to see if your favourite apps have an update waiting, then follow this quick tutorial to learn how to update an app.

Open up Google Play
Open up Google Play on your Android device. Now press the options button on the top right of the app and select My Apps.

Choose the update
You’ll now be shown all the updates that are available to your apps. Some of them can be done automatically and some may require you to change some settings, or update your details. Press on the app you want to update.

Download the update
After choosing the app, you’ll be taken to the app’s official page. The layout will be similar to when you first downloaded the app, but instead of selecting Download, choose Update. The app will begin downloading and you’ll be shown a notification once it’s done.
