Creating a presentation is simple in Keynote, but what about showing it to people? When it comes to standing up and giving your presentation to a group of viewers, you want to make sure that everything runs smoothly. Thankfully, Keynote offers all the controls you could need to make sure this happens, and puts them all in one place so you can get everything set up in one go.

The tools include the ability to play your presentation automatically as soon as you open it, loop the slideshow or alter the ratio of your slides to adjust for wider HD displays. You can even change the theme of your whole presentation with a single click, or add audio that will play in the background as you flick through the slides.
Step-by-step: Manage your presentation settings
1 Change the theme
First, open up the sidebar by clicking Setup in the top-right of the window, then use the button at the top of the menu to select a different theme for your project.
2 Slideshow settings
Use the Settings panel to tweak things to your specific needs. If you need to open the file with people watching, check the top box to make the presentation play immediately.
3 Presentation types
If you have created a slideshow that can run on its own, select one of the different options in Presentation Type, such as Self-Playing, which will just run automatically.
4 Soundtracks
Click the Audio tab at the top of the sidebar to access the sound options. Here you can add music from iTunes and set up looping options if you want a track to repeat.
