Not everyone can make it to the world’s biggest tech show – but luckily for you, our friend Waiman Lam, VP of global marketing for ZTE Mobile Devices, was on hand to get a look behind the scenes. Over his series of exclusive guest blogs, he shares the four things he saw at CES that are guaranteed to pique the interest of Android fans. Over to him!

Community sourcing: the future of product design?
The Android project has always been driven by a spirit of openness and community. At ZTE we have taken that to heart with the launch of Community-Sourced X, a programme designed to ensure our future products feature the innovations consumers actually want by, well, asking them. Anyone can register to tell us what they want from our new devices. This should be the way forward for the whole consumer electronics industry. The smartphone will be the centrepiece of the Internet of Things society, but consumers will only buy into this vision if devices meet their actual desires and requirements.
