Game Review – Ace Tennis

tennis1Developer: Stephane Portha?

Ah, tennis. The game of kings. And now you can play it on your iPhone. We weren’t really expecting a great deal from this game as tennis simulations are pretty hit and miss on consoles, but as it turns out the controls are intuitive and it’s a lot of fun. Use your thumbs to move your player left and right, and then dictate the movement of your shot using the accelerometer. Left and right tilts do as you would expect, and forward and back tilts can throw lobs and drop shots into the equation too. Graphically this game isn’t as advanced as many other games we’ve played, but what it lacks in polish it makes up for in decent gameplay. If you’re not into sports you may want to skip this app, but if you are then this is easily worth a couple of quid.
