Madfinger Games, creator of the Dead Trigger first-person shooter series, has unleashed a zombie horde on New York City in Unkilled, and boy do they look good! Well, good as in the blood-spattered visuals are impressively detailed and smooth.
As Joe, a member of the Wolfpack anti-zombie unit, you’re immediately thrust into the fray. Fortunately, the first few stages act as a tutorial and the control system is intuitively simple as, by default, your weapon will auto-fire whenever you aim the crosshairs at a zombie. There are also ample checkpoints between waves of zombies. If you’re really outnumbered, explosive barrels come in handy. Alternatively, you can fire off a one-use weapon, such as a rocket or use an adrenaline syringe to slow down the action, giving you more time to line up headshots.
While primary and secondary weapons can be upgraded or bought in the armoury for chromium currency, special items such as medikits, rockets and adrenaline cost gold – available in IAP bundles, so you need to use them sparingly. It also takes time to level up the weapons required for later stages.
