Fight for Middle-earth review

Conquer your enemies on the battlefield

This third person hack-and-slash game from Warner Bros puts you into the thick of the action of the third The Hobbit film. Those familiar with the series will instantly recognise the various levels and sections that are exact copies found in the third film, as well as many of the characters that inhabit them. Each player takes control of a certain faction; be it Elves, Orcs, Humans or Dwarves. Each faction has their own set of moves, strengths and weaknesses, and you need to clear the battlefield of the bad guys that are attacking.

It’s a simple enough concept and for the most part it works well. Graphics are good, apart from the occasional texture popping in and out, and the story loosely follows the events of the film. Where the game is lacking is with its unresponsive controls that usually leave you swiping the air, rather than hitting the enemy.
