We’re always on the look out for great Android phones, whether they’re the official Google Nexus phones, or the next power house from Samsung, however the ethical acquisition of materials never crosses our minds when we’re looking at these products. Enter the Fairphone, which not only addresses these concerns, but also delivers a great product with it.

A fair phone

The Fairphone is a dual SIM, quad-core smart phone running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, and comes with 16 GB of internal storage and a qHD (960×540) capacitive touch screen. The best part is, all the materials are sourced from conflict-free areas, with the principles of fair trade applied. All this for only 325 Euros/£280/$420.

There’s a catch though – the phone will only exist if enough pre-orders are made. 3500 have been sold at the time of writing, however 5000 need to be made before production can start. You can support the phone by heading to their website and purchasing your own phone.
