Facebook launches new messaging app Slingshot

Slingshot is a new messaging service set to rival Snapchat.

If you’v ever used Snapchat, then chances are you’ll be pretty familiar with what’s available in Facebook’s new messaging app, Slingshot. The app enables users to send snippets of videos and single pictures to contacts stored through the app. Where it works in the same way as Snapchat, is that each message is only viable for a few seconds.

To gather further contacts, Slingshot automatically connects to your Facebook account and imports those who have also got the Slingshot app installed on their device. Obviously, you can manually add new contacts as well.

Slingshot is available for free from the Google Play store.
