Django 1.6 released

Django 1.6 is the final release that will support Python 2.6, and includes new templates for projects and apps

Django has quickly become one of the most popular new web frameworks over the past few years, and it keeps going from strength to strength. Django 1.5 was the first iteration to support, and be supported by, Python 3, and this new tradition is continued with the latest version.

Django 1.6 isn’t just extending the Python 3 support either. It also adds new default templates for startproject and startapp, allows for using one database connection for multiple requests, functioning Time Zone aware features and much more.

You can get the latest Django 1.6 files from the official website, as well as a new wheel package version from PyPi.
