There’s no denying that iPhone’s are incredibly devices when it comes to getting hold of the latest headlines, finding your friends on Foursquare or simply checking what else you have TeuxDeux today. But whilst having all the information the web can offer you at your fingertips is great, wouldn’t it be nice to see it in a different format every now and again?
According to London-based design agency BERG, that’s exactly the thinking behind the Little Printer. In their own words, “We love physical stuff. Connecting products to the Web lets them become smarter and friendlier – they can sit on a shelf and do a job well, for the whole family or office – without all the attendant complexities of computers, like updates or having to tell them what to do. Little Printer is more like a family member or a colleague than a tool” and going on the design of it, we’re more than inclined to agree.
Looking much like a little person, the Little Printer wireless connects to a device hooked up to your WiFi router and, with the help of the Little Printer iPhone app, gives you a personalised printout of what’s going on the web. You can choose how many of these are printed out each day and at what times (BERG themeselves recommend once or twice per day), and what content is in there from things like your friends’ Foursquare check-ins, top headlines from the Guardian, and To Do lists from Google. The whole thing prints out in an attractive and easy to read way like clockwork.
In an age where everything’s digital, there’s nothing more awesome than seeing something physical being offered, and BERG’s Little Printer definitely hits the spot. We want one.
