With a walnut finish, metal fittings, and mesh grilles, the Ruark MR1 speakers look great – but they sound even better. Ruark is well known for its hi-fi systems and at £299, the MR1 speakers happily fit sit between the full home sound system and portable Bluetooth speakers.
From the low-end to the treble, it’s easy to appreciate a full musical range thanks to a hand-crafted bass reflex, tuned and damped enclosures and 75mm woofer with powerful neodymium magnet system. Even when streaming from Bluetooth rather than the wired output, aptX coding technology gives it CD-quality sound, with rich depth and clarity.
The Ruark M1 speakers are designed for home use, but at only 17cm tall and with an optional ‘Backpack’ rechargeable battery pack and leather ‘Carrypack’ with leather handle sold separately, there is no reason why you can’t take them with you – though at 3kg you may only want to go as far as your garden.
We have two sets of Ruark MR1 speakers to give away, but you will need to have read Android Magazine issue 45 to successfully answer our question. If you haven’t got a copy yet, you can order a copy here or download it direct. The competition closes on 25 December.
