Combining the elements of an Android tablet and a portable gaming console, the Archos GamePad moves the Android platform into a different market altogether. The 7″ tablet is surrounded by a range of physical gaming controls, reminiscent of what can be found on the Sony PS Vita and Nintendo 3DS.
The device has a 7″ 1024×600 display, and is powered by a dual-core processor. There’s a meagre 8GB of internal storage, but this is expandable by the accompanying SD card slot. Best of all, it’ll be one of the first tablets running the Android 4.1 update.
The Archos GamePad is now available throughout Europe for €149.99, and will hit the U.S in Q1 of 2013.
