The New York Times is reporting that Apple is currently “experimenting with” a curved-glass smartwatch. The report comes from Nick Bilton, who made similar claims back in December 2011 that the Cupertino company was working on wearable computing.
According to Bilton, who cites people familiar with the company’s explorations, the watch would run on iOS. Apple’s Senior Vice President of Technologies, Bob Mansfield is said to be “engrossed” by devices that connect to the iPhone via Bluetooth, further fueling the rumours that such a device would connect and work with the iPhone.
The report also makes some links between the device Apple is experimenting with and Corning’s latest technology – Willow Glass. The iPhone glass supplier’s latest innovation is a thin, flexible glass that could be wrapped around the wearer’s wrist.
