Apple will now pay artists during free Apple Music trial

The power of Taylor Swift continues.

Following on from Taylor Swift’s criticism of Apple’s policy of not paying artists for their work during Apple Music’s three month trial period, it seems the company has now changed its mind.

Apple executive Eddy Cue has taken to Twitter to now state that Apple will be paying all artists during this trial period, as well as acknowledging Taylor Swift’s open letter that was sent to them.

The changes will undoubtedly help new artists and DJs looking to make a name for themselves on the platform get what they deserve, while this news obviously helps keep the spotlight on Apple Music for longer.

Apple Music launches at the end of this month alongside iOS 8.4.
