Pre-orders for Apple’s first foray into the wearables market have only been open since Friday, but according to shopping data analysts, Slice Intelligence, they’ve already managed to hit 957,000 pre-orders in the US alone.
From total pre-orders nearly two thirds purchased the entry-level Sport version, while one third plumped for the stainless-steel Apple Watch. Although it has been reported that the Watch Edition certainly had some pre-orders, there’s no specific pre-order numbers as of yet. For those who did pre-order the most popular colour chosen was the space grey aluminium case, closely followed by the stainless steel and space black steel variants.
Take a look at the chart below to see which band people chose.
Although this early data is already fantastic news for Apple, it doesn’t account for the likes of the UK, China and Japan, where we can expect pre-orders to also be in their thousands. The Apple Watch goes on sale on the April 24th in nine countries: UK, US, France, Germany, Canada, China, Japan, Hong Kong and Australia.
