Following on from Samsung’s announcement of the Galaxy S4, Apple launched a new page on its website titled ‘Why iPhone‘. The page takes a look at the device’s finer features and compares them to the competition.
Specifically, the page looks at its customer satisfaction awards from J.D. Power, design and build quality, Retina display, battery life, A6 chip, LTE, camera, App Store ecosystem, iOS 6 operating system, Siri, iCloud, and Genius Bar service.
It’s a slightly unprecedented move for Apple, who has shied away from taking pot-shots at the competition in recent years (although, historically, Steve Jobs was particularly vocal about its rivals, at times), but it doesn’t come as a complete surprise, given that Samsung has gone in hard with some parodying ads aimed straight at the iPhone.
The page follows on from a couple of interviews given by Apple’s Senior Vice President of Marketing, Phil Schiller, who made some specific (and scathing) comments about the Android operating system.
