If you’re into sports and take it seriously then you will know that your biggest rival is actually yourself. It’s the battles that you have with your own personal best which drive your training and enjoyment. iTrail is an iPhone application that lets you keep track of your sports performances, whether you’re running, cycling, walking or skiing. Not only does it keep tabs on your times, it also keeps track of the distances you travel and the altitude you do it at by using GPS. All this data can then be fed into a graph and your trails can be viewed on Google maps! The software initially suffered from some bugs, but an ongoing number of recent updates now have the engine purring nicely. If you’re a sports enthusiast this is a must. Even if you wouldn’t call yourself an enthusiast, more like you force yourself out for a jog once a week, it’s still a very useful app to have. Not only does it give feedback on times and distances covered, but it allows for ongoing graphical comparisons so you can plot your progress easily. Priced at just £1.79, there is no reason not to have iTrail.
