Android 4.4 KitKat announced: No Key Lime Pie for now

Android 4.4 will be officially code-named KitKat.

Okay, so we didn’t see this one coming. Rumours of the next Android update being named Key Lime Pie have been quashed, with Google instead plumping for KitKat.

The partnership with Nestle will see promotional packs of KitKats being sold all over the world, with lucky eaters having the chance to win a Nexus 7, or some Google Play credit. There’s been no official word on when we will see or what we can expect in the next update, but it’s expected to be a big advancement for the Android OS.
