KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has issued a report which forecasts Apple’s plans to release updated versions of its MacBook line this summer after announcing them at WWDC in June. The projection suggests that the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air lines would be updated with the latest Intel Haswell processors, which lines up with other reports from analysts, along with recent rumours that Apple will begin production of new models in the middle of May.

Kuo has reversed his previous opinion that Apple is planning to drop the non-Retina MacBook Pro, with its maintained popularity ensuring it will remain on sale. He also stated that while the MacBook Air will see an update, it is unlikely that Apple will include a Retina display due to cost, thickness and production concerns will stop hi-res displays being added to Apple’s thinnest notebook line.
